Dr. Hudson Garrett is an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Division of Infectious Diseases, Department of Medicine at the University of Louisville School of Medicine. Dr. Garrett is the Executive Director and Executive Vice President of the Association of Healthcare Value Analysis (AHVAP). He holds a Graduate Certificate in Infection Prevention and Infection Control from the University of South Florida. He has completed the Johns Hopkins Fellows Program in Hospital Epidemiology and Infection Control. He is a Fellow, the American Academy of Project Management, and a Senior Fellow and Ambassador of the Management and Strategy Institute. In 2019, he was inducted as a Distinguished Fellow and Practitioner in the National Academies of Practices. Dr. Garrett was recently selected as 1 of 20 healthcare leaders globally to participate in the 2021 13-month Global Patient Safety Fellowship with the Institute for Healthcare Improvement and is a graduate of the IHI Patient Safety Executive Development Program. Dr. Garrett has been awarded the Fellowship Designation by both the Society for Healthcare Epidemiology of America and the Infectious Diseases Society of America. He holds graduate certificates in healthcare leadership from both Cornell and the University of Notre Dame. He is a Fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives, the Royal Society of Public Health, the Association of Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology, and the American College of the Association of Healthcare Value Analysis Professionals. He serves as the lead faculty member for the Medical Device Safety, Infection Control Specialist, and Advanced Medical Device Safety and Risk Management Certificate Programs for the AHVAP Certification Center. He holds micro-credential designations from the AHVAP Certification Center in Medical Products Instructions for Use Specialist, TeamSTEPPS, Medical Device Value Analysis Safety Specialist, Supply Chain Disruption Specialist, Infection Control Value Analysis Specialist, and Advanced Certificate in Medical Device Safety and Risk Management Micro-Credential. Dr. Garrett is a graduate of The Wharton School Leadership Program in Operations and Supply Chain Strategy and has earned additional graduate certificates from The Wharton School in Strategic Operations Management and Global Supply Chain Management.
He is a frequent international lecturer in the areas of infectious diseases, healthcare-associated infections, outbreak response and prevention, vascular access, patient safety, healthcare quality and risk management, medical device-related infections and outbreaks, endoscope safety, and infection prevention and control. He holds Board Certifications in Patient Safety, Healthcare Quality, Healthcare Risk Management, Legal Nurse Consulting, Medical and Clinical Affairs, Patient Experience, Vascular Access, Antibiotic Stewardship, Infection Control, Long-Term Care Infection Control, Dental Infection Control, Designated Infection Control Officer, Flexible Endoscope Reprocessing, Critical Care Fundamentals, Ambulatory Infection Prevention, Healthcare Value Analysis, and in Healthcare Management.
He has served on international and national organizational boards in the areas of healthcare environmental services, dental infection control, infection control, acute care infection control, post-acute care infection control, healthcare value analysis, infusion nursing, and vascular access. He has served on expert panels related to disinfection and sterilization with the United States Food and Drug Administration, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration, and the Environmental Protection Agency, most notably serving on the FDA’s Panel and Working Group for Flexible Endoscope Reprocessing. Dr. Garrett led and completed the first FDA 522 Study on Duodenoscopes evaluating human factors elements of instructions for use and microbiological contamination of flexible duodenoscopes. He presented these results to the Food and Drug Administration, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and other clinical partner organizations globally. He is a member of the Network of Experts for the US Food and Drug Administration. He served as the Chairperson for the new national Association of Perioperative Registered Nurses Infection Prevention National Task Force in 2024-2025 and serves as a liaison member of the National Guidelines Advisory Board for AORN. Dr. Garrett is a member of the Editorial Advisory Board for the AORN Journal. Dr. Garrett has lectured around the world and provided testimony to government and regulatory agencies on a variety of topics related to infectious diseases and infection prevention and control.

As Premier’s Senior Director, Clinical Value Analysis leads and facilitates the Value Analysis Committee and the clinical process within the Performance Groups and Premier’s committed programs. As a clinical expert she uses her understanding and medical expertise to analyze current and future market technology trends while prioritizing customer needs. In addition Karen’s responsibilities also include assisting the clinical work groups for all Performance Groups as well as working with members and suppliers to identify and develop strategies to introduce new technology and improve product utilization.
Karen currently serves the Association of Healthcare Value Analysis Professionals (AHVAP) as their Presidential Advisor for the Board of Directors for a 2 year term ending December 31, 2027. She is also the Chair of the Board of Directors for the AHVAP Certification Center.
Karen is board certified in healthcare value analysis, is a Fellow of the Association of Healthcare Value Analysis Professionals, a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Data Management, and a Fellow of the National Academies of Practice.
Prior to joining Premier, Karen has more than 33 years of nursing experience in the Perianesthesia and Surgical Services. Her management duties included capital equipment acquisitions, total joint implant management, physician preference product ordering, daily oversight of the Department of Anesthesia, and responsibility for over 50 OR’s 12 Endoscopy procedure rooms and all Pre-op and Post-op departments.
Karen was recently honored with the Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award in recognition for her volunteer leadership over her career.
Anne Marie Orlando MBA, BS, RN, RCIS, CVAHP, CMRP, PNAP, FACHDM, FAHVAP

Anne Marie has been a critical care nurse for over 20 years. The foundation of her nursing career has been in the Interventional Cardiology and Interventional Radiology space where she has led the development of these programs from their diagnostic beginnings. Anne Marie held a dual role of Supply Chain Director and Clinical Resource Director where she was able to operationalize many clinical initiatives while maintaining fiscal accountability. At the GPO level, Anne Marie served as the Director of Clinical Services for Yankee Alliance helping support member value analysis teams and their work with clinical utilization studies. Anne Marie is currently the Vice President of Clinical Programs for Yankee Alliance and Blue.Point Supply Chain Solutions where she directs the development and implementation of our clinical strategies, including enterprise value-analysis initiatives and the Clinical Product Utilization Program, to advance patient safety, clinical effectiveness, and fiscal stewardship.
. Anne Marie currently serves as the President of the Board of Directors for the Association of Healthcare Value Analysis Professionals (AHVAP) for a two-year term ending in December 2027. Anne Marie is board certified in healthcare value analysis, is a Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist, holds the CMRP designation from AHRMM, is a Fellow of the Association of Healthcare Value Analysis Professionals, a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Data Management, and a Professional Member of the National Academies of Practice. She previously served as the Treasurer of the AHVAP Certification Center Board of Directors and holds multiple AHVAP Certification Center Micro-credentials.
Anne Marie is a graduate of Rivier University and received her master’s degree in Business Administration from Southern New Hampshire University and is a newly Certified Healthcare Value Analysis Professional.
Joanna Williams MSN, RN, CPHQ, ACM-RN, CCM, CPPS, CVHAP, FAHVAP

With more than 15 years of progressive experience in healthcare, Joanna Williams is a multidisciplinary clinical leader whose career spans critical care, case management, and performance improvement with a specialized focus in patient safety and quality—particularly within the surgical environment. She brings a rare combination of frontline clinical insight and system-level strategy, allowing her to bridge clinical, operational, and analytical perspectives to drive meaningful, sustainable improvement.
Joanna’s expertise in the surgical domain is grounded in her work with the American College of Surgeons National Surgical Quality Improvement Program (ACS NSQIP) and a portfolio of high-impact initiatives aimed at elevating surgical outcomes and operational performance. She has led efforts in surgical site infection (SSI) reduction and prevention, enhanced recovery after surgery, supply standardization, and waste reduction—delivering measurable gains in safety, efficiency, and stewardship.
Her experience extends across the full perioperative continuum, where she has partnered with clinical and operational leaders to improve critical-to-quality performance indicators. Joanna has supported and advanced key initiatives including patient preoperative optimization, first-case on-time starts, prime-time and block utilization, and turnover time improvement. Through these efforts, she has built a reputation for fostering collaboration, translating data into actionable insights, and promoting a culture of accountability and high reliability.
A committed advocate for patient safety, operational excellence, and team-based problem solving, Joanna brings a strategic, disciplined, and outcomes-focused approach to every challenge. Her work reflects a deep commitment to improving care delivery, enhancing the surgical experience, and supporting healthcare organizations in advancing quality at scale.
